Keyport and the Coronavirus

We’ve all heard a lot about the COVID-19 outbreak in Washington during the last week. So what do we do here in Keyport if someone becomes ill?

Most people with COVID-19 have mild symptoms similar to a cold or flu, so there’s no need to panic. But people over 60, pregnant women, and people with underlying health problems are more at risk for complications.

The Kitsap Public Health District is our local agency monitoring what’s happening in Kitsap County. If you’d like to know how many Kitsap residents are being tested and the test results, that information is updated each day at www.kitsappublichealth.org. They have also put together a fact sheet of information concerning COVID-19.COVID_FactSheetDownload

The best way to help if we get sick is to stay home.

If I stay home, how will I get meals? groceries? prescriptions? pet food?

Volunteers in Keyport are ready to pick up items for you or deliver home-cooked food. Call the people listed at the bottom of the page. No one will come in your house. Deliveries will be made to your porch to avoid contact.

Our three local restaurants will deliver meals if you’re sick. You can call Casa Mexico (360-598-2727), Keyport Mercantile (360-779-7270) or Torpedo Town Diner (360-598-0142) to have a meal brought to your home. If restaurant staff is unavailable to deliver, Keyport volunteers can pick up your food and bring it to your porch
